Singer-songwriter, Multiple world record holder, Author, India Country Chair – G100 Media Arts & Communication.

A multiple world record holder and award winner, Swapna Abraham is a singer-songwriter, author, actor, interior designer, mentor, philanthropist and versatile corporate professional from Kerala with her roots and formation in India and prime experience in the UAE. Swapna has authored and produced 22 English musical albums and performed extensively on the international gospel music platform (www.swapnaabraham.com).
 
A mentor in singing and songwriting, Swapna championed the first branded karaoke cafe ‘Kafeoke’ in India with a school for singing and songwriting and a recording studio. She is also known for her acting performances as Donna in the Mamma Mia musical directed by the late Mithran Devanesan, and Meenakshi in the Tamil feature film Nadunissi Naaygal directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon. An alumnus of the T A Pai Management Institute and Indian Institute of Management Kolkata, she is the India Country Chair for Media Arts & Communication of G100, a global organization working towards the UN’s SDG5. Swapna is also an interior designer and member of the Designers Society of America.
 

After a twenty-five-year stint in singing and songwriting, she embarked on a thousand-day world record challenge in 2017 composing and producing (live) and publishing 2321 songs (atleast two everyday) setting four world records with the Golden Book of World Records, based out of Dubai, UAE.

The world records were as follows:

  •   Longest quotidian feat of composing, producing and publishing song incessantly (April 08, 2017 - January 02, 2020)
  •   Quotidian feat of composing, producing and publishing multiple songs incessantly for 100 days (March 08, 2019 - June 15, 2019)
  •   Most songs composed, produced and published by an individual in one day (January 01, 2020)
  •   Longest quotidian feat of composing, producing and publishing children's song incessantly (April 08, 2017 - January 02, 2020)

 

 

She also published a memoir ‘She Played In The Dark’ entailing the journey and lessons through the 1000-day world record journey and further went on to studio-produce the 1000 songs for children and published them in illustrated children’s songbooks titled ‘A Children’s Song A Day’ with appealing illustrations and thought-provoking songs with their karaokes inset in QR codes.

Her more recent awards include: 2023 Silver - Global Music Awards - LOVED (album) - Pop, Silver - Global Music Awards - LOVED (album) - Female Vocalist, Silver - One Earth Awards - No Love Lost - Best American Roots Song, Silver Medal - Outstanding Achievement - Global Music Awards - No Love Lost - Country, Female Vocalist, Finalist - Spring 2023 - World Songwriting Awards - No Love Lost - Best Modern Country Song, Official 2023 Finalist - InterContinental Music Awards - No Love Lost and Official Nomination - Hollywood Independent Music Awards - No Love Lost - Country (Crossover).

Her style of music stretches across the entire gamut from pop and country to folk and soul. In 2010 Swapna received the NeedStar citation ‘Role Model for her progress & success in the field of Mainstream Career, Art & Entrepreneurship’, in 2012 she was awarded the Maestro Award – LAMP-ICONGO Karmaveer Chakra for her contribution to gospel music, in 2019, the Aspire World Award for Passion for Excellence at the 31st Global Women’s Empowerment Summit, in 2022 Exceptional Women of Excellence Award at Women Economic Forum, in 2022 the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Music (Honoris Causa) by Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation (Deemed To Be University), and in 2024, the Doctor of Philosophy in Music (Honoris Causa) degree by Maryland State University.
